We will not raise prices to cover Sales Tax.
The Supreme Court, in its recent decision, says you have to pay sales tax on your online out of state purchases. We say you don't... at least not on purchases from us where states can now require sellers to collect and pay the sales tax.. Since 1990 we have charged one price for an item... We pay the sales tax on our local sales... We pay the shipping. Since the Supreme Court has decided that online sellers must collect and pay the states sales taxes, we will extend our policy of paying our local customers sales tax to include paying the sales tax for our online customers in those states that require us to collect and pay the sales tax when our sales in states that state require we pay the sales tax when our sales exceed preset levels. AND we are not raising our on line prices to cover it. Be sure to know your state's policy on use tax and online sales tax.. Some states may continue to require that.
Why are we doing this? It will cost us more, true. But we are fortunate enough to live in a free, democratic republic that embraces Capitalism. Capitalism means competition. Keeping prices down is how we compete on price. Making wonderful, high quality products and custom products when you want them is how we compete on demand. Because of this we are competitive with anyone - even Amazon does not offer what we do.
